A tender is a small boat used to transport passengers and/or luggage from a cruise ship to the shore or to another ship.
Tenders are often used when the cruise ship is unable to dock at a port due to its size or the depth of the water. Tenders can also be used to transport passengers to shore for excursions or to other ships for transfers.
